grey seal in sovereign harbour recently. 

not much else to report. saw the pallas's warbler at belle tout, poor views but it had been 13 years (!) since my last, which was also at belle tout. also at beachy a frustrating swift sp ahead of the storm during the big pallid influx. presumably that's what it was.

dropped into cow gap in the evening hoping some ring ouzels would still be about. after covering the whole of the hollow i had only seen 30, being difficult buggers in the scrub. disappointing, and i bet there must've been loads in the morning. heading back when i reached the top i could hear soft calls overhead, looking up there was a flock of 34 circling high, nice. then more calls from another direction....a flock of 60. they joined together and more were added, in all about 120 in one group, circling and gaining height! looking to the west another flock of 60 had risen up from chat vale. the sun was setting and the wind had dropped and the ouzels were all on their way, magic stuff.
