on 1st a yellow wag over beachy. recently teal, gadwall, pochard, juv little egrets, juv bh gull and plenty of sand martins at west rise. autumn is coming. have had great spot and jay in the garden recently. a pair of egyptian geese flew over eastbourne sainsburys today.

another roseate tern past seaford this morning. 2 black-necked grebes at the res (y'day green sand + common sand). despite the east wind and thunderstorms there wasn't much happening on the wader front. 6 dunlin, 2 ringed plover, 2 whimbrel, 3 common sands and 2 med gulls down the cuckmere. 2 ringed plovers, 1 greenshank and 2 shoveler at rodmell. back home i had house sparrows in the garden for the first time since moving here a year ago.
