got the impression from a brief visit to west rise that there was a decent gull passage going on today. best mix of ages and species i've had there this year. where are the caspos tho?! about 8 white wags there also.

not the best looking wag from the group

best bird of the day was again a mammal

only the second one i've seen and they're meant to be common. looked funny in the water like a mink stole floating along.

one little gull the only thing of note past seaford this morning. best thing down the cuckmere was a common seal hauled out just south of the golden galleon and there were 5 avocets and 2 black redstarts at the scrape.

Sunday 24 March 2013

my first seawatch of spring and it was colder than the one i did in winter. a close flock of 4 avocets was the highlight. 13 blackwits in 2 flocks was also notable.
