do you think the queen would like it

2 common sands and 1 greenland wheatear at west rise. so they're coming through now but i've only seen 2 british wheatears! y'day there was a redstart hiding from the wind in the car park shrubbery. all the winter duck have now gone.

yesterday had a quick look off the stony beach in the evening. nothing passing but 7 lovely arctic terns feeding just beyond the surf. don't get views like this often enough especially in spring.

yesterday: another disappointing seawatch in the morning followed by an uneventful 9 mile walk over the downs. in the afternoon nipped down to beachy to see the crazy UAE style corncrake in chat vale. my only previous one was on scilly in '98 and that wasn't moving (no it wasn't dead). been that long since my last tawny owl too (!) so called into belle tout on my way home.
